Hi,

I am having problems with the exporting function to business publisher in Business Architect, and wonder if anyone can advise me:

I was doing an exporting halfway and the process just hang there for a very long time. So I tried to kill the process by killing the Business Architect using the windows task manager. After I restarted Business Architect, the publisher export profile is now missing. When I tried to recreate the profile using the same name, the system complains that the profile already exists. At the business publisher side, the profile is also now missing. When I login as admin to edit the profile, I get the error message "Unable to save changes. An export is currently being executed. During an export, the attributes of profiles cannot be changed. Please try again later."

Any idea what I should do to recover or recreate the profile?

Thanks!

Hi KL,

You probably will also find that you cannot currently "Delete" the existing export without an error message....

Try going to the "Services" on the Business Publisher Server and "Stop" then "Start" the service for the ARIS Business Publisher Server. Then, you can try to publish once more. It may happen that you find yourself again with the same situation. If this is the case, do the "Stop/Start" of the "Services" once more. This time, if you first "Delete" the existing publisher export, you should be able to re-publish afterwards.

Hope it works for you!

Best Regards,

Bob

Hi KL,

Option - 1. Stop the Business Publisher Services and clear all the Business Publisher logs and Work folder. Then Start the Business Publisher Services.

Then check the export in Architect .If NO export found, then check the logs for errors.

Option - 2. Stop the Business Publisher Services and delete the export directly in the businesspublisher /exports folder in the Installation Directory.

Then Start the business Publisher services and take new export from the Architect.

Dear all,

Thanks for all the advice. Just a follow up for the benefit of those with similar problems. Based on what has been suggested, I was able to get the original export profile to appear in business architect again after stopping the business publisher service and deleting all the Business Publisher logs. Unfortunately it hang again when I try to update the export, so I have no choice but to delete the problematic export, and recreate a new export with the same name.

Some pointers:

1) To clear the BP logs, goto ...\ARIS7.1\BPServer\tomcat\logs and remove all the log files inside

2) If you are really unable to delete the export profile via Business Architect, u can stop the BP service, and delete the export directly in the businesspublisher /exports folder in the Installation Directory as mentioned above. For my case, the exports folder is in ...\ARIS7.1\BPServer\tomcat\webapps\businesspublisher\exports. Just delete or move away the folder of the export with problem.

Hope these pointers will be of benefit ...

Rgds,

KL
