I am creating process diagrams for Level 3, 4 & 5 SAP processes.
I am using VACD for scenarios, EPC for Process and FAD for Process steps.
I am using ARIS 7.2 Architect for SAP, so when I create EPC diagrams, I am using an event before and after every function for both non sap function and sap functions. Is this the correct convention when modelling for SAP synchronisation or is it just mandatory for the non sap function objects coloured green?

We have started from SOLMAN, so a project has been created, Scenario, Process and Process steps. This has created the folder structure in ARIS. So for level 3 it has created an EPC, level 4 EPC and level 5 it has created FAD for every Level 4 SAP function.
It gets tricky now!
So earlier I have prepared detailed EPC flow diagrams which contain flow connectors, decisions, event objects, sap/ non sap function, aplication system object, org. units and information carrier objects.
I am now replacing these earlier prepared EPC models with the new SAP imported models specifically replacing the SAP function objects which are maintained with a SAP model or function object id number.
I will also be adding all the other objects as mentioned earlier to the epc models and then want to send this back to SAP?
I am also adding SAP transactions specified to each sap function object to launch the application? Do we had the transcation code to the sap function object or do we use the level 5 FAD and use the screen object to add the transcaction code.
Please advise, also any publically available resources for some basic dos and don'ts?

YUBHESH: For SAP sync it is NOT mandetory to have event-function-event. I would suggest to use start event, end event & events at decision points atleast, which will help you/client to do analysis once your process repository is ready.

YUBHESH: Before doing 1st sync from Solman to ARIS, you have do some Method Configurations, to specify which ARIS model type have to be used for Scenarios,Processes & Process Steps while sync. Please note that it is also depends on what kind of information you select in from SAP BPR for sync.
You can correct Method Configuration at : View=>Options=>SAP Options=>Method Configuration

YUBHESH: Be Careful!, as models & objects generated through SAP sync, gets SAP ID which is required to sync back.

YUBHESH: Enriching processes by adding aplication system object, org. units and information carrier objects, is best practice to create your process repository to do analysis. In ARIS-SAP Sync, you can transfer SAP functions, Transctions, Screen objs, Application System Type objs, Master Data....
But you can not transfer Org unit from ARIS to Solman. I as far as I know, Sync for this is only one way for Org units & Master Data

YUBHESH: As per best practice, always use Screen objs in FAD & specify Transaction code (T-code) as an Attribute in that Screen object. So that you can do analysis & library/repository for screen objs used in your SAP projects out of all SAP T-code.
