Connection
Graphical representation of a relationship. A line clearly shows the relationship of items in the model.
Directed and undirected connections are available.
Directed connections specify a direction using arrow heads. This is the case, e.g., within a business process in which the chronological sequence is important. The activates connection between the Event and Activity objects therefore has an arrow head. This means that the activity is triggered by the event; the event must occur first in order to trigger the subsequent activity.
Undirected connections do not have arrow heads. You use these if you want the connection to represent a type of relationship other than a chronological sequence. For example, the carries out connection between the Activity and Person objects does not have an arrow head. It indicates that the person carries out the activity. It is clear that the relationship between the two objects is not indicated by a flow.
