Hi all,
I have a problem with the "traffic light", object in the MashZone tool. So, I would like to see on the traffic light with next conditions 0-25 % red 26-50% yelow nad 51 -100% green...
The data which I get is in txt data type but I create data feed which add one more columns in the result list with some value (number) in it... After I create the traffic light with new column as KPI value, aggregation is "Avg" ond the condition are above mentioned but the calculation is not good.
So, please cen somebody help me with showing the percentage in traffic light?
BR,
Marko
Hi Marko,
good to hear that you already created a data feed which contains a numeric column. Traffic lights (and colorization in speedometers, maps, and tables) work as follows: Define intervals on a line of numbers and assign colors or symbols to each interval.
If you want to achieve the situation illustrated above you may configure a traffic light using the data assignment mode within the visual composer.
The order of interval definitions matters, i.e. subsequent conditions may replace preceding ones. So, please be careful about the ordering. It is a good start to draft your concept like in the first picture.
ARIS MashZone ships with a Demo MashApp called Feature overview. It contains lots of examples where thresholds are used. (We use the term threshold whenever referring to such interval definitions.) You may get some inspiration from this.
Some more words regarding the aggregation strategy average you mentioned. When ARIS MashZone visualizes a traffic light it renders the numerical value from a predefined data feed column. But since feeds are likly to contain multiple rows you must specify an aggregation strategy which helps MashZone to summarize multiple rows.
The multiple row thing comes even more interessting if you obtain your thresholds dynamically from another data feed column instead of hard coding such values. (A great way to mashup config-data with actual masurements.) Please note the combo-box on the right hand side which enables you to either enter values directly or read them from other numerical feed columns.
Doing so, you may even select a different strategy for aggregating thresholds than aggregating the KPI itself ;)
