Sometime I think IDS should pay us for bug-testing of BA. It’s a joke :)
But this is seriously.
1. Bug with graphic (connection) copy that I’ve marked at this thread. There was announced that it had fixed in 490292 but it is no true.
2. Improvement proposal – to add model type name to header of BA (like in Toolset). It was very convenient when you can see type of model you are working with. Now you should use Attributes (Properties) panel, but usually it closed for more modeling space. Or you should cancel object’s selection to see what type of model you working with.
3. Critical moment – sometimes BA closes without any reasons. I can’t catch the cause why it happens, but it was:
- during db login (db but not server);
- during object placing to the model (often it happens with BPMN models)
BA windows just disappears, but LOCAL server is still in the memory, so you should shutdown it through Windows tasks, because you can’t start BA again…
Hi Alexander,
I forward your reports to the devs. About the second issue: I suggest that you create a fragment containing the model attributes like model type you are interested in. Every time you start a new model, just drag&drop this model header to the diagram. In ARIS Express, there is already such a fragment available for all model types supported by it.
Hi Sebastian!
Thank you for answer.
About proposal #2. Yes, your approach can be a solution, but:
- if you work with outlying part of model (especially with big EPC or BPMN), you should get back to the model’s beginning to look at the model’s type
- often there is no need to print model type, so fragment will be unnecessary in this case and you should delete fragment every time you print model.
