Hello,

maybe somebody can help me with the following Problem.

In administration i can see all of these symbols:

now i want to implement one of these symbols in my convention-filter to use it for modelling. Normally i select my symbols by setting them in the filter by only chop them. but how can i transfer the symbols from the method into my convention-filter  ???

hope that somebody has the answer.

Hi Chris.

You can't add all symbols into the filter for a model.

The ARIS methodology only allows a certain set of symbols for the model. A filter does not allow to add all arbitrary symbol for a model type, but only restrict the set of symbols allowed in the "entire method" for the model type.

Bye,

Frank

Hi Frank.

thanks for your answer.

sounds logical. but is it not possible to change/modify the filter in a way, that i can

add/remove certain symbols within the filter?

in my case i´m only allowed to work with the filter method instead of the "entire method" but i don´t

like  the symbol for telefone. i´d rather have another symbol for telefon which is included in the methods/symbol. In my opinion there must be a way to transfer one symbol from methods/symbol into my filter method. am i wrong ?

i mean, in the "filter assistant" you can go through all these steps to modify things. but in step 6 there is no chance to add new symbols. hope you know what i mean.

Bye,

Chris

Chris,

I'm not sure if I understand your problem but have you tried to merge filters? I remember having similar issue that was resolved this way. If I recall it well, after adding new symbols, I had to merge my filter with the extended Entire Method filter and then take out what was not needed, or something like that.

Cheers

Hi Ivo,

thanks for you comment.

My problem was just a misunderstanding. I tried to use symbols from one model-type in another model-type. For example, it is not possible to use symbols from the type "EPK" in the type "Organisational Chart"

Every model type has its own symbol selection. Some are equal but not every symbol. Its not possible to transfer one certain symbol from type "EPK" to type "Organisational Chart". I wanted to pick one symbol from one model-type and shift it to another. I was just confused with that.

Now i got it! :)

Cheers!

Chris
