Hello Community,

I hope you can help me with the following. For the Application System Type diagram, we have identified objects/symbols from other model types that we would like to use. This can be electronics documents, Process Interface - and e.g. a symbol like an electronic cabinet. Most are usable in the EPC.

Problem is, that I do not seem the be able to create a filter that supports it. There is only a limited number of symbols I can use on the Application System Type Diagram.

What can I do, if I want to stick with the Application System Type diagram?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Carsten,

You should use the 'ARIS Symbol Editor' to first create the symbols you require. Then, in the 'Configuration\Method\Symbols' database, the new symbols need to be based on an existying symbol (e.g 'Application System Type). So you would right click on the symbol that the new symbol will be based on and select 'New\Symbol...' and browse to your new symbol.

Finally, the newly created symbol needs to be added to your method filter (and possibly, your modeling 'template.')

Best Regards,

Bob

Thanks Robert - it worked out well.

However, when trying to publish this i now get an error message. At the end of the Publish, it stops and the message "The Procedure was cancelled".

Looking in the Publisher Server log I see:

cannot execute DDL statement: CREATE UNIQUE INDEX e49_objdefattr_1 ON e49_objdefattr (ParentItemId,AttrTypeNum,LocaleId,TypeGUID) TABLESPACE ARISBPINDEX

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01452: cannot CREATE UNIQUE INDEX; duplicate keys found

However, there are no duplicates on the Oracle DB, as they are deleted in the same job.

I must have made an error updating the template :( How can I restore to defaults ??

Thanks!

Hi Carsten,

I'm sorry for the web publishing error, I don't know what the reason for that would be, it should handle it accordingly.

I think the easiest way to 'restore to defaults' would be to delete the new symbol. This will automatically remove it from all templates and method filters. (The system will indicate that this will happen prior to you being able to delete it.)

Best Regards,

Bob

I am pretty sure that the reason is, that i ignored some of the warnings i got while editing the template.

At this point i got all database (with new objects and symbols) restored in our sandbox enviromnet.

All databases are deleted (we have a backup :) ) in production and the oracle install script is being run again. Thereafter I restore the databases and cross my fingers...

Regards Carsten
