Hi,
we are on ARIS 7.1.390905. We are facing issue of ARIS Business server servcies going down when some specific report is being run on the server.
We believe that the JRE version used on the PC from where the report has been run is not compatible with the current ARIS version?
Has anybody faced the same issue? if yes, please advise us on this.
Also can anybody suggest whether it is possible to check JRE version on the system through ARIS script so that report generaion can be restrcited for some specific users?
Hello Ms. Rawat,
ARIS 7.1 is certified with JRE 1.5.0.x and 1.6.0.x
If you have one of these versions, I don't think the JRE is playing a role in the issue.
Is the report you are running a standard one or is it customized ?
Can you run the report using the LOCAL server via Business Architect ?
Check the Installation and Administration Guide to see how to increase memory for Java.
BR,
Claudio
Hi Claudio,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
It's customised report. This report outputs model graphics, symbol graphics , attributes etc. And the report out sometimes goes to 100 MB in rich text format. But the server won’t disconnect at every time when we run the report, only at particular times, which we assume the user load + report load causes a heavy impact.
Is this might be possible reason?
Hi Kartikey,
I think so too. Depending on the RAM memory of your server and the workload that ARIS has,in certain moments, the server service may crash because of the lack of resources.
This would require further investigation, and for that I suggest you to get in touch with the ARIS support from IDS Scheer in case your company has a valid maintenance contract.
Regards,
Claudio
