I have been wondering for long time now, I´ve asked many people, perhaps someone here can help me. What exactly differs ARIS Business Architect from ARIS IT Architect (or ARIS Business Designer from ARIS IT Designer). My best guess is that when acquiring IT Architect you get extra templates, filters, model types, and things like that. Am I right or wrong?
Yes, IT Architect provides additional model types and symbols. There are also many useful macros and reports. Most of the added functionality is in the area of managing the life cycle of Software and Hardware (what meets standards and what does not, when things will move from status to another, etc). You can get an overview of much of the functionality in the IT Architect User Guide which should be in your Documents folder on the Start menu wherever you installed ARIS.
Dear Peter,
To be more informed about exact differences between ABA and AITA in terms of the model types used in them (and the other tools also), please refer to the post I've created in community before. Good luck.
