Hi,

could you tell me, is ARIS 9 with IE 11 and Java 8 workable? Have you a summary of compatibility?

Thanks

Dear Zsofi,

Yes, ARIS 9.8 supports Java 8 and IE11.

On the ARIS 9 DVD in folder .\Documents\English as well as on Empower on page http://documentation.softwareag.com/aris/aris9.htm you can find the ARIS 9 Platform Matrix which outlines all compatible browsers, Java versions, OSs, DBMSs etc.

Cheers

Hi,

thank you for the answer. We also have ARIS 7.2. Do this Version supports IE 11 and Java 8 too?

Hi

According to my experience Aris 9.8 does not really work with Java 8. I installed the last version of Java (version 8.0.650.17) and Aris 9.8. When I tried to run a report, I received an error message: "Report: atsallen line 838. Could not initialize class com.aris.modeling.common.omf.runtime.OmfRuntimeFactory" When I changed my PATH variable to point to "C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.8\client\jre" the report worked normally. The version of java.exe in C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.8\client\jre\bin is 7.0.650.19.

Dear Bertin,

There must be another reason for that error message, because the installed ARIS client loads its embedded JRE, from that folder you named in your post. It's completely independent from an installed JRE on the same computer. Likewise ARIS Designer/Connect Server or LOCAL, the single-user ARIS server installed optionally by the ARIS Client setup.

However, a downloaded ARIS client from an ARIS Design/Connect Server via a browser, indeed requires a locally installed JRE, thus, depending on the installed JRE version.

Cheers

Hi Rahul, hi Bertin,

this is actually not enough information to find out what the problem is.

I recommend to contact support.

Bye,

Frank
