Hello ARIS Community,

I've been working with ARIS MashZone for around 2 months now, mostly with smaller data files. Today, I got an excel file that consists of ~ 39000 rows. Quite a lot.

The file contains the sales order data, the sales order number, the sales order type, number of order lines and the SO User. So far so good. It starts from 10.05.2010 until today.

In order to aggregate the data, I decided to create a pivot table that sums the amount of Sales Orders including the amount of order lines by month.

What do you guys think? Are Pivot Table the right way to aggregate data in order to display them in MashZone? Can I do it like this? Or is there any other way how to aggregate data?

Do I need the raw data to use the time filter? Or does it also work with aggregated date data?

Thanks for your help! :)

Ok, I want to give an update on my problem:

I created the pivot table and the time filter works great, but there's one mistake in it.

When I choose e.g. October 2010, just one user shows up (Areeporn), because it's the only row that contains the date field next to it. The other users do not show up in the diagram because they don't have a related date.

As you can see, I tried to extract the date from the SO_YR_MONTH column and copied it into the column SO_DAY... but there's no way to copy it into every row.

Unfortunately, the pivot table in excel do not allow any copy operations within a pivot table. As long as each row does not contain a date, I can't use the time filter :-(

Hello,

an alternatively whay without using a pivot table is to aggregate data directly in mashzone with the aggregate operator.

As result you get a similar result table as you show  in your description above.

This feed can be assign to each composer component like chart or timefilter, how you can see aren't there empty rows.

I hope that answer you question correctly.

Best regards,

Bernd

Yes, unfortunately MashZone does not "continue" to fill empty cells with the last read row value. So I am afraid you need to adjust your Excel sheet a little further.
