Hey,

We've been hard at work upgrading our portal to the new Low-Code 10.23 portal version.

Happy about that in general, there is one snag, the entry model.

First of all, when looking into the training video's (see pic one), when hovering on a structural element in the structuring model, there is a 'double click on object to navigate' pane (marked yellow) that gives the user useful information.

We're not getting this pane, resulting in a text box somewhere on the portal home page saying 'double click to navigate'. That's not really classy. How is that pane 'activated?', or can we set the option 'single click to enter assignment' somewhere? Which would also solve the next problem, when a user is too slow with the double-click, or just click once, the following happens;

(a 'picture box' is selected, which isn't really classy either)

Next to that, the 'quick links' component is way nicer and a single click option, but I can only fill in ONE URL (not an option per database as with the 'Diagram' component, which is Database specific) which would resolve a lot of hassle. Is there an option in 'fixing' this perhaps?

If not, could this be implemented? The start model is nice and all, but not very intuitive, the 'tiles'  in the 'Useful links' component are..

Thanks in advance,

BR,

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

You could also create your custom objects and create assignments to those custom objects. Like:

I know that you can make the start view dependent on the person who opens ARIS. However, if I remember correctly, this requires some developments. I would reach out to your SAG consultant. They can help with that.

Best,

Veronika

Hey Veronika,

Thanks for the answer, however, I am quite happy with the current objects, just want to know if;

  1. you can make the assignment 'work' on a one-click action

or

2. show (as in the 1rst screenshot from ARIS basic that when hovering on an 'structural element') there is a text box somewhere on the portal home page saying 'double click to navigate'.

Thanks again,

BR,

Vincent

Hello Vincent,

you could support this request https://aris.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ARISV-I-55

AFAIK there is no setting in Connect for this problem.

But by default a single click on the teeny-weeny assignment symbol opens the assigned model. If you click on the object symbol you need a double click. So much for a modern UX 8-))

Are you sure that the popup/tooltip in the training video was a feature of ARIS? Or just an overlay in the video? If you think it through the tooltip would only make sense when hovering over an object with assigned model.

Regards, Martin

Hello Martin,

Thanks for the tip, I've endorsed the request!

*As for the popup/tooltip, I don't know if that's a feature in ARIS, or just in the video (for DEMO purposes).

Vincent
