Hi all, needed some help on my problem with ARIS.

I'm having this database with multi users login. Randomly the connection lines between objects will go missing and it's affecting all the models of a certain model type.

Support ticket has been raised to Gobal Helpdesk but they couldn't identify any problem after viewing my server log file.

This issue is really a pain, every morning we have to do manual check on the models to ensure the connection lines are in place, else we have to perform a remerge based on the previous day backup db.

Has anyone encountered this weird issue previously? Or someone can suggest any possible problem?

<PS>Only the ARIS backup script is running nightly.

Regards,

William

Hi William,

Did you run an audit script on one of the affected models to determine who the last user was? Maybe that would be good place to start and also review who has delete privileges in your database.

Anita

Hi Anita,

I'm using the model attributes to see if anyone has last edited the model and it's not showing anyone recently has edited the model.

I do not think someone will manually delete the connection lines, because usually alot of models will be affected. Say I have 100 models of EPC (material flow) model type, all connection lines in the 100 models will be missing.

Anyway reviewing the delete privileges is a way I can try to explore. Thanks.

Regards,

William

Hi William,

Was this ever resolved?

Hi Ant,

Unfortunately it's not. Our lines still go missing every now and then and our folks here are retrieving backup to perform merging to restore the lines.

This issue has again been brought up to IDS Scheer by my management. Let's hope for some good news.

:)

William

Hi Ant,

Yes, we managed to identify the cause of the missing line with some help from the ARIS Global Support.

Thanks to Ken Lim for his patient support and troubleshooting with us :)

Cheers,

William
