All models in ARIS can be created in the following manner:

1) Select a group (folder) in which you want to create the model

2) right-click on the folder and select new on the menu

3) when the pop-up dialog appears, make sure you have the Process box selected, scroll down to either EPC (Column display) or EPC (Row display) and select one the one you like (rows the swimlanes are horizontal and columns the lanes are vertical)

4) Give a name and you good to go.

Note: if you don't see the desired model type you may have an issue with your method filter. In this case, log out of the database you are in by right-clicking its name in Explorer and selecting logout. Right-click on the database name and select Log-in. Answer the first screen with your Id and pswd, on the second screen select Entire Method as your method filter. This will give you access to all of the models in ARIS. If you don't see Entire Method, your access has been restricted, see your ARIS administrator.

You might also want to look at the help. In particular there is a Getting Started tutorial that walks you through the basic functionality. Beyond that, the books by Rob Davis are also very good.

Hope this helps,

Rick

Hello Rick,

Thank you for your help. Now i have the book Aris design Plaform and many things have become clear to me.

But now i have another problem and can't find anywhere in this community a solution for the following issue.

Well, now i can generate the Swimlanes ;). But i'm looking for the Events-Form and cant find it. ? I can see only Fuctions and Type-Systems. In the Book written by Rob Davis, i saw many examples SwimLanes with Events-Form.  Is it possible to use Events-Form in a SwimLane?

Could someone help me?

I solved the problem and had to start the database with the filters properly.

Best regards,

Is it possible to make the swimlane vertical? When I write titles for the symbol it takes a lot of  horizontal space...
